D: Slightly More Traditional

Well, ok, so K jumped right into the mix with a couple of foodie posts, but I thought it would be worthwhile to talk about some of the things you’ll find here. Obviously, we’ll be putting up recipes of things that we’ve made that we really like. K also astutely pointed out that we’ll be putting up photos of meals sans motor oil.

We have applied to be members of The Daring Kitchen, which is a really neat (free) service that provides you with monthly cooking and baking challenges. We’ll be starting that up next month, but take a look through the archive of some of the other things they’ve done — it’s pretty cool! K will be playing the role of the Daring Baker, and I will be playing the role of the Daring Cook. Not to say that I can’t bake — I can — but K’s better at it, and enjoys it more.

I’m also planning on entering some recipes in the Pillsbury Bakeoff when it rolls around again, so I may detail some of that process here, as well. I’m not sure what their rules are on blogging, but I’ll figure it out later.

Finally, there will occasionally be posts about food epiphanies that I have, cooking techniques, or other miscellany that I think might be interesting or beneficial for people.

So yea. Enough boring stuff. Let’s eat!
